本片的故事片与当年令保罗．纽曼一举成名的《左手神枪》相同，由威廉．**厄姆拍摄成电视电影，成绩依旧可观。全片拍得相当严谨，对主人翁的复杂心理和浓烈的**有细腻的刻划，瓦．基尔默那种经常濒临精神崩溃边缘的狂放演出也相当精彩。
