處理了很多亞裔美國人的問題，但用輕鬆詼諧的方式呈現，而且沒有很強烈的議題衝撞，大多是生活中的小事，只是以亞裔美國人的視角來看待，並呈現了一定程度的亞裔生活，相較於主流美國白人視角，別有一番風味。男主的人設在劇中很巧妙，是個活在舒適圈，不關心世界議題的普通亞裔美國男人，他一直覺得自己這樣很好，不用刻意去觸及種族問題，但當劇中的麻煩接踵而至時，卻得不斷與自己對話，如最後一集所言，種族問題其實一直都在，只是男主視而不見，也許下一季男主會走出舒適圈，碰撞出更多火花，進而找到新的自我；也許兜兜轉轉，還是會回到舒適圈，畢竟這不是人權鬥士紀錄片，劇名又叫yappie，不過無論哪種走向，都會令人期待。能用幽默的生活來呈現不同種族間的文化差異，頗為新穎有趣，看膩了美國電影中理所當然的亞洲刻板印象，換個視角也很好。
